Zoetrope
            The Zoetrope is one of many Optical devices, it was famous in the 1800's. The Zoetrope uses a piece of film and wheel to animate it. It was made   by William Horner in 1834. The Zoetrope was also a popular toy as well the introduction to animation. The piece of film has "steps" of an object and while the zoetrope is spinning, the inside of the zoetrope would have an animation on the ring. Optical toys were the beginning of animation, if optical toys were not invented there would not be any 3-D movies out today.
